zum Inhalt:
Mit einem Jagdgewehr »auf dem wunderlich einsam wirkenden Rücken des Jägers«, der seinen Weg durchs Gebirge zieht, fängt alles an. Fasziniert von diesem Bild, schreibt ein Dichter das Gedicht Das Jagdgewehr. Der einsame Jäger liest das Gedicht in seiner »Jägerzeitung«, erkennt sich selbst in den Zeilen wieder und schreibt dem Dichter, genauer: Er schickt ihm die Abschiedsbriefe dreier Frauen, die sein Leben bestimmten: seiner Frau, seiner Geliebten und deren Tochter. Aus drei Perspektiven erzählen diese Briefe die Geschichte seines Lebens, die Geschichte einer verbotenen Liebe, die in Wirklichkeit eine Geschichte der Einsamkeit ist.

It all starts with a hunting rifle "on the whimsically lonely back of the hunter," which makes its way through the mountains. Fascinated by this image, a poet writes the poem The Hunting Rifle. The lonely hunter reads the poem in his »Jägerzeitung«, recognizes himself in the lines and writes to the poet, more precisely: he sends him the farewell letters of three women who determined his life: his wife, his lover and their daughter. From three perspectives, these letters tell the story of his life, the story of a forbidden love, which is in reality a story of loneliness.
